Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. -- Margaret Mead

Ikan Heads to the Middle East!
December 08, 2009

Ikan has been collaborating with Dar Al-Handasah, a leading international architecture and engineering firm, for the past two years on the concept designs for The Palm Jebel Ali Towers design competition in Dubai, The Facility Management Project in Dubai, and Tripoli's Iconic Tower in Libya.

The Palm Jebel Ali Towers will be located at the heart of the Palm Island in Dubai with plenty of "Living Green by the Sea" community concepts throughout. This project was designed to meet LEED Gold Certification targets with its many sustainable concepts. Some of these concepts include building integrated wind and solar power, extensive vegetative roof terraces, radiant cooling, energy recovery ventilation, occupancy sensor controls, and LED and CFL lighting systems.

Airport City, Dubai houses the Facility Management Project's concept design. This project will utilize many Sustainable Design Methods and is currently registered and seeking LEED Silver Certification.

The beautiful Iconic Tower located in Tripoli, Libya, is designed in a very hi-tech fashion, using state-of-the-art technical installations and was designed following LEED Certification guidelines.

Check out the Portfolio page for more information on all of these projects.
