In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we have been taught. --Baba Dioum

Regional Priority

According to the USGBC, "regional priority credits (RPCs) are not new LEED credits, but instead are existing credits that USGBC chapters and regional councils have designated as being particularly important for their areas. The incentive to achieve the credits is in the form of a bonus point. If the RPC is earned, then a bonus point is awarded to the project's total points."

The purpose of this credit is to provide an incentive for the achievement of credits that address geographically-specific environmental priorities. There are one to four (1-4) possible points available.

*While regional priority credits were incorporated into each of the LEED Checklists, they are only available to projects in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
