When we reduce the amount of energy
we use, we reduce the amount of natural resources we use. We also
reduce the amount of exhaust emissions that go into the atmosphere
from producing energy. But most important of all, when we reduce emissions
and our demand for resources, we help to protect the our world and
a healthy quality of life for future generations to enjoy.
We can reduce energy consumption by utilizing clean alternative energy
technologies in conjunction with energy system conservation strategies.
When green building materials are used to construct they greatly increase
indoor air quality and building occupant health. Green materials have
minimal environmental impact because of their high recycled content
and their use of less virgin materials. These elements and strategies
represent the fundamental green theories, which form the foundation
of "green" building.
